When did the band form?

In 1998. The original "core 4" disbanded in February 2007 at The Social and funkUs v2.0 debuted in July 2007, also at The Social, but disbanded just over a year later. funkUs v3.0 debuted in December 2008 and whittled down to a trio, funkUs v4.0 in December 2009. In October 2010, funkUs v5.0 went back to a quartet and the road goes on...

Where is funkUs from?

The band formed in Orlando, FL. Members are originally from all over the country, (as are most people in Florida.)

Is funkUs a funk band?

Sure, but not exclusively.

How do you describe your music?

Cream meets the Grateful Dead with some Meters and Phish mixed in for flavor.

What is "flavor rock"?

Alternative forms of highly influenced rock music exploring melodic combinations and musical tastes culled from a deep bag of varying styles, or flavors. With emphases on meaningful songwriting and freeform jam exploration, the right combinations result in highly danceable, energetic grooves that can reach dizzying, intoxicating highs or soothing, spiritual lows... Can you dig it?

Where did the name come from?

With different musical collaborations forming loyal followings over many years playing in the Orlando music scene, Mann noticed that the music seemed to slowly grow on people over time, much like a fungus would. Therefore, funkUs gives a name to their musical form of fungus. The uppercase "Us" within the name symbolizes the emblazoned sense of community forged through the music, which is all "funk" to Us.

What do friends and fans of funkUs call themselves?

The funki, what would be the Latin plural of funkUs... if it were a Latin word, that is.

Who is Grateful Doug?

...Phhhhhfffffffffttttt!!!!

Who is The Mayor?

What? You mean, you haven't met The Mayor? I met The Mayor...
